Ninefold Distillery

The first and only rum distillery in the South of Scotland, making rum from scratch in a converted byre on the Dormont Estate.

Ninefold Distillery is the first and only rum distillery in the South of Scotland, operating since 2019. The distillery makes rum from scratch in a converted cattle byre on the 460 year old Dormont Estate, north of Dalton. Using sugar cane molasses the distillery does everything from fermentation to maturation on site, producing small batches of authentic Scottish rums. The distillery even uses casks made from oak sourced from the Estate.

Owned and operated by Dr Kit Carruthers, the 14th generation of Carruthers on Dormont Estate, the brand logo of a six winged angel, a seraphim, is his family’s crest, and proudly adorns its elegant bespoke bottle.

More about the distillery and its rums is on their own website at ninefolddistillery.com.
