Fund Provider Links

The windfarm money that supports our community comes from two funds, each looked after by its own administrator. You do not need to work out which one fits your idea, we will do that with you, but you can read more about each fund below.

Annandale and Nithsdale Community Benefit Company (ANCBC)

ANCBC administers community benefit funds provided by Scottish Power Renewables and linked to the Harestanes windfarm. The funds support a wide range of activities that benefit local communities across Annandale and Nithsdale.

Nadara

Minsca Windfarm Community Fund

Minsca Windfarm funding is provided by Nadara, the operators of the windfarm, and is administered by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Grants are available for community benefit projects within the Dalton and Carrutherstown Community Council area.

Enquiries about the Minsca fund are handled by James Parker at Dumfries and Galloway Council.

How the Local Grants Scheme fits in

Both funds make money available to participating community councils through the Local Grants Scheme. Dalton & Carrutherstown Community Council coordinates the Scheme for our area: smaller Category 1 applications are approved by the Community Council directly, and we help larger Category 2 proposals find the most appropriate funding stream with the relevant fund administrator.

The windfarms

Scottish Power Renewables and Nadara set aside community benefit money from Harestanes and Minsca.

Your Community Council

We coordinate the Local Grants Scheme for our area and approve Category 1 awards directly.

Local projects

The money reaches individuals, groups and ideas that benefit our two villages.
