Community resilience plan: draft approved
Work on a Community Resilience Plan for Dalton and Carrutherstown is well under way. Members of the Community Council met Dumfries and Galloway Council’s resilience officer to ensure any plan that is adopted is manageable for a community of our size.
A resilience plan sets out, in practical terms, how communities can best mitigate the impact of an emergency, and details what help is available locally if the villages are cut off or left without power for a long spell.
A draft plan was submitted to Dumfries and Galloway Council and was approved. The plan is a living document that contains actions, advice and guidance that can be adopted before an emergency happens, during an emergency and in the recovery phase afterwards. There are still some finer points to be agreed, but once it is ready it will be published here.
