Community Council casual vacancy election

The Community Council recently held a casual vacancy election. Following the process three new members were welcomed onto the team, taking the number of members to eight.

To become a member of the Community Council you need to be 16 years of age or older, live within the Community Council’s parish area and be on the electoral register. No particular experience or qualification is needed. What is needed is a willingness to give up a little of your time to work as part of a small team and make a difference to the local community.

If you think you could make a difference, come along to a meeting first and see what it is like, there is no obligation at all. You can read more about what the Community Council does, and what it cannot do, on our About the Council page, or get in touch for a chat.
