Meetings
Our meetings are public. Anyone who lives in Dalton or Carrutherstown is welcome to come along, listen to what is being discussed and raise something that matters to them.
When and where we meet
The Community Council meets roughly every two months, and holds an Annual General Meeting each year. Dates are confirmed at the meeting before, and are posted on our noticeboards in both villages and on our Facebook page.
How often
Usually every two months, most often on a Tuesday evening, plus an AGM once a year.
What time
Ordinary meetings start at 7pm. The AGM usually starts a little earlier, at 6.30pm.
Where
Dalton Village Hall or Carrutherstown Primary School. The venue is confirmed with each date.
What happens at a meeting
Meetings follow a published agenda and are minuted. A typical meeting covers:
- apologies and approval of the previous minutes
- matters raised by members of the public
- a report from Police Scotland
- correspondence received and sent
- the treasurer’s report and any grant applications
- planning and licensing applications in the area
- any other competent business, and the date of the next meeting
There is a slot near the start of every meeting for members of the public to raise an issue. You do not need to give notice or put anything in writing beforehand, just come along.
